Coach Barron is a native of Billerica, MA and began his hockey career playing with Billerica Youth Hockey and eventually Billerica High School. In his career at Billerica High School, Coach Barron was a two-time All-Conference and All-Star selection, Captain, Leading Scorer and Most Valuable Player.
During his senior year at Billerica High School, Coach Barron accepted a scholarship to play hockey at Division I Merrimack College. Coach Barron began his career at Merrimack playing his first Hockey East game as a 17 year old freshman. During his four year stay at Merrimack College, Coach Barron was often recognized for his work ethic and physical play earning him the “Fan’s Award” as the fan favorite his junior year.
Coaching Experience:
Upon graduation from Merrimack College, Coach Barron began his coaching career while also pursuing a career in Law Enforcement. Coach Barron served as an assistant Coach at Westford Academy and first Assistant at St. Anselm College for approximately a year and a half before accepting a position with the US Government in the law enforcement field. After several years and several moves, Coach Barron landed in Western MA and soon after resumed his coaching career as an Assistant Coach with Longmeadow High School. In his 5 years at Longmeadow, Coach Barron has helped the Lancers to 3 Western MA titles and 1 State Championship.
Personal:
Coach Barron, returning for his 4th season with the 2000 Pic’s, currently resides in East Longmeadow, MA with his 2 children, Jack and Ashley.
