All Development Players Must Get Sized by July 7th

All players, Mite - Bantam Minor need to report to Bertelli's Skate Shop in W. Springfield by July 7, 2010 for sizing. Each player will have to pay $150 for a home and away jersey and a new hockey bag. The numbers assigned to each player will be issued on a first come basis, so if the player wants to be sure to get his number he needs to go immediately. The association will be purchasing practice jerseys, wind suit and a pair of socks.

Billet Families / Housing Needed

The Springfield Pics Jr Hockey program has players often move hundreds sometimes thousands, of miles from home to train and play in West Springfield, MA. The Pics have been fortunate to have many loyal families throughout the years open their hearts and homes to Springfield Pics players.

Campanale to AIC

The Springfield Pics are proud to announce that Captain Nick Campanale has committed to Division I American International College for this fall. The Chester Springs, PA native finished with 15 goals 20 assists for 35 points.

Strale to Elmira

The Springfield Pics are proud to announce that Jesper Strale has committed to ECAC West power Elmira College for the fall of 2010. Strale, a native of Uppsala, Sweden finished second on the Pics in scoring with 45 points his 27 goals ranked ninth in the EJHL.

Girls Program Starting 2010-2011 Tournament Team

The Pic's Girls program has announced the formation of a U19 Tournament team for the 2010-2011 season. The U19 girls will participate in a Thanksgiving tournament, the CT Polar Bears Holiday tournament and (depending on availability) one other tournament. This will be a USA Hockey registered team.

There are no try-outs scheduled at this time. The team is being formed with both current and former Pic's Girls players. Additional girls will be considered to fill any open spots on the team. Interested players should contact Kevin Dorsey 413-596-4660 or dorseykp@netscape.net.

Former Pic Kohn Named ECAC
Rookie of the Year

Nichols College first year forward Zach Kohn (Hartland, Wis.) has been named the ECAC Northeast Hockey League Rookie of the Year, it was announced today by Commissioner of the ECAC Rudy Keeling. Kohn also earned a spot on the All-ECAC Northeast Second Team and the All-Rookie Team.

Budnick Commits to UConn

The Springfield Pics are proud to announce that forward Joe Budnick has committed to Division I University of Connecticut for the fall of 2011. Joe currently leads the Pics in scoring, in 37 EJHL games played he has 42 points on 14 goals and 28 assists.
